Introduced as a dedicated 28 mm calibre, the Lady-Datejust 279174 pairs the timeless Rolesor concept — a harmonious blend of 904L stainless steel and 18-karat white gold — with the classical appeal of a fluted bezel and Roman numeral dial. The monobloc middle case in steel is topped by a white gold crown with Twinlock double waterproofness, while the fluted bezel, also in white gold, scatters light in precisely the same radial pattern Rolex has employed since its introduction of the fluted form in the 1950s. Sapphire crystal with a Cyclops magnifier and double anti-reflective coating ensures perfect readability.

The silver dial carries Roman numerals executed with characteristic Rolex precision — slightly three-dimensional, lacquered to resist fading, and aligned to fractions of a millimetre. Against the bright field of the dial, the Roman chapter ring imparts a scholarly elegance that distinguishes this variant from index or diamond alternatives. Rolex's in-house Calibre 2236 drives the mechanism: a self-winding movement featuring the Syloxi silicon hairspring, which offers superior resistance to magnetic fields and temperature variation.
