Reference 279135RBR occupies the summit of Rolex's ladies' gem-set Datejust family. The 28 mm case is fashioned from 18-carat Everose gold — the proprietary alloy whose copper content is fixed by Rolex's metallurgists for permanent rose-gold stability — and set throughout with 44 round brilliant-cut diamonds in the bezel, each stone selected for consistency of colour and cut. The result is a watch that radiates without overwhelming: the diamonds serve as a luminous frame rather than a spectacle.

The chocolate diamond dial is produced in-house at Rolex's Chêne-Bourg dial manufacture. Brown-toned diamonds, sometimes called cognac or chocolate for their warm earth hues, are arranged as hour markers in a pavé or individual setting, creating a tonal harmony with the Everose gold case that eschews conventional contrast. The relationship between the warm gold tones and the deep brown of the stones produces a remarkably cohesive palette — one that wears as naturally in formal evening wear as it does in afternoon light.

Introduced in 2015, it represents Rolex's first movement designed specifically for 28 mm Datejust references, featuring a Syloxi silicon hairspring — developed jointly with the Swiss Centre for Electronics and Microtechnology — that provides improved isochronism and antimagnetic properties over traditional Nivarox alloys.
