The STGK009 houses this movement within a 27.8mm stainless steel case subjected to the full Zaratsu polishing treatment, its surfaces rendered in the distortion-free mirror finish that is the unmistakable visual signature of Grand Seiko. The seconds hand is blued by hand — a traditional technique in which the steel is heated with controlled precision until it passes through the full spectrum of oxidation colours and arrives at the deep saturated blue that no coating can replicate.
