The Tourbillon Souverain is the watch that gave François-Paul Journe his place in horological history. Developed while Journe was still an independent atelier working in near-anonymity, calibre 1519 introduced the remontoir d'égalité — a constant-force mechanism that isolates the tourbillon from the irregular tension of the mainspring, delivering energy to the escapement with a precision that no direct-drive tourbillon can match. In this 42mm case of solid 18k 6N gold, the mechanism achieves a power reserve of 80 hours from its manually wound movement, the entire architecture constructed on a base plate and bridges of solid 18k rose gold.

The dial is an object of rare ambition. Enamel and gold surfaces are treated with Clou de Paris hobnail guilloché and hand engraving, the gold and white tones creating a ceremonial quality that recalls the great pocket watches of the Ancien Régime.
