About This Watch
The Royal Oak Offshore was conceived in 1993 as a bold amplification of Genta's original 1972 design — larger, more assertive, more overtly sporting — and Reference 26400SO.OO.A335CA.01 represents one of its most visually compelling limited-edition expressions. This 44 mm chronograph is distinguished by its blue ceramic screw-locked crown and push-pieces, blue ceramic bezel, and a blue Mega Tapisserie dial divided between a vivid primary field and rhodium-toned counters and external ring — a chromatic composition of considerable sophistication. The blue camouflage rubber strap, itself a collector artefact, adds unmistakable military-sports energy to an already commanding presence.
Within the robustly proportioned case — 14.4 mm thick with a sapphire crystal caseback — beats Calibre 4401, Audemars Piguet's column-wheel selfwinding chronograph movement with flyback function, delivering approximately 50 hours of power reserve. White gold applied hour markers and Royal Oak hands are set against the Mega Tapisserie — a large-scale version of the classic pattern that reads with graphic authority at 44 mm — while a black inner bezel ring frames the composition with architectural precision. A second blue rubber strap is included, offering versatility of presentation for a watch that commands attention in any configuration.
Limited to just 400 examples worldwide, this Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph occupies rarefied territory within the broader Offshore canon — combining ceramic elements, camouflage detailing, and strictly limited production numbers into a single object of compelling collector desirability. Water resistant to 100 metres, it is a functionally serious sports chronograph as much as a collector's acquisition. At $48,160, Reference 26400SO.OO.A335CA.01 stands as one of the most characterful and historically significant Offshore limited editions available to the discerning buyer.
