Conceived in collaboration with Florentine jeweller Carolina Bucci, the Royal Oak Frosted Gold introduces an ancient Florentine goldsmithing technique — hammered with thousands of tiny diamond-tipped tools to create a shimmering, frost-like surface — to the 41 mm octagonal canvas that Gerald Genta immortalised in 1972. Reference 15412OR.YG.1224OR.01-B elevates this already extraordinary proposition by pairing the hammered 18-carat rose gold case with a gem-set bezel and an openworked dial that dissolves the boundary between movement and dial entirely.

At the heart of the watch beats Calibre 3132, AP's self-winding double balance wheel movement whose twin oscillating weights are entirely visible through the openworked architecture. The black and golden dial structure is reduced to its skeletal essentials — bridges, wheels, and the double balance wheel suspended in open space — while luminous sword hands remain legible against the mechanical complexity beneath.
